We have changed the material and none of the reasoning.

THE SALLET. Cotton chino, unstructured, 7cm brim. Reduces upper peripheral field by approximately 40 degrees. Indicated for supermarkets, waiting rooms, school gates, and any environment in which one is likely to be looked at.

The brim is a visor. It does not hide the wearer.

Wearer remains visible. This is not the point.

There is no drop. When a piece exists, it goes to a name drawn from the register, so nobody has to set an alarm, sit at a screen or be quick, and you can join and go and live your life.
